Yes, some of these characters have been characters we’ve seen before – seven of them are from other stories! The rest are characters made for the story itself! I’m so excited to show them all off, but it’s not fun to just make a post without a piece of origami or a drawing to go with it! So I have a request: Send in your puppets! We’re superfolders after all!

One thing, though: don’t get too attached. NO ONE is safe. Get excited! Start theorizing who’s going to be expelled and who you think will scathe by with their grades intact. Use the talkzone to discuss your theories!

Hype for The Shredder Squad Day 2: Rick Flag

On this trip to the world of “The Shredder Squad,” we’re looking at the leader of the team: Rick Flag (Literally, that’s his pun.) The main wielder of Rick Flag is Freshman Shaun-Zhang Snyder, the nephew to Susan Snyder, one of the Amanda Waller Teachers. Shaun-Zhang is headstrong, willing to help fight whenever necessary, but he struggles with believing in himself. He doubts who he is as a leader, and this tends to mess with him in many ways.

Shaun is marginally younger than the team he is helping to lead. While everyone else is approaching graduation, Shaun-Zhang is a mere freshman, barely out of Barbera Middle School, and it shows.

This is Shaun-Zhang’s first appearance, and I’m excited for you guys to see more of him.

In terms of developing Shaun-Zhang (Or Shaun, most of the time referred to as such), I wanted a character who had potential to lead. Rick Flag in the comics is an amazing hero, who has his fair share of strengths as the leader of the squad. When starting this story, Joel Kinnaman’s character had only been in one film, 2016’s “Suicide Squad.” I didn’t have much to base off of there, but as I continued writing, the new Suicide Squad movie arrived, and I had a better idea of the direction I wanted to go into.

“Zhang” has Chinese origins as meaning “to open up” or “to spread.” The plan was, throughout “The Shredder Squad”, to have Shaun be the spreading thing that mends all the parts together. The nephew of one of the Amanda Waller teachers, he can feel her presence in every move he makes, their spread over him weighs heavily on the many decisions he ends up making.

Here’s one of my favorite moments so far when writing Shaun:

Special thanks to the many people that sent in their Rick Flag pieces! They’re so awesome!!

Hype for The Shredder Squad – Day One

Hey guys!

I’ve been hard at work working on The Shredder Squad for… literally the last year. Yes! I’ve been working on it since November of last year when we first decided the cast. I got the feeling that this’ll be one of the longest, most jam-packed stories on the site, and it’ll have a lot of old and new faces joining the world of Jutefruce. So, as we get closer and closer to the release (trust me – I’m working on it during any free time I have!) I would like to showcase some characters over time. So, we’ll start with my personal favorite: Ronald Lamden, the King Crease.

Ronald Lamden’s King Crease versus the titular Kid Fold in 2020’s Kid Fold

Ronald Lamden, also known as the King Crease, is based on King Shark, the Flash villain that is a monster on both the land and the seas. Ronald is very much the same way – he’s a football player, but he also knows how to swim. However, his child-like demeanor and his clumsiness usually gets in the way of him ever thinking straight.

Ronald Lamden became a personal favorite of mine when Origami Master made him the villain of one of his first DCOU stories, the Kid Fold. The Kid Fold story would then be expanded upon in Kid Fold 2, and we’ve even received Kid Fold 3, which will be posted whenever Fold 3 begins.

Lamden has appeared in several other stories, in rather odd places…

For example, King Crease appears in the MOU’s Foldtastic Four. When I was writing the scene, I knew I wanted a member from the most major OUs at the time. So, we had Silas, who was a user that wanted a Darth Plagueis (I think) puppet. That’s the McQuarrie rep. We had Annashred Crease, from the ROU. Ilkey Grammar School from the Wizarding Folds is mentioned. We have Linkin from the VGOU, and I went “Well, what should we have be the DCOU rep?”

JC didn’t know, and no one else did. So I spent some time thinking about who would have the most chemistry between Linkin and this new “Silas” character. There were the obvious ones; we could’ve had a serious thing between Chris Booth and this kid about heroics. We could’ve chosen a villain like Neil Swift, who would say that he could easily take down the puny Video Game school in an instant and ask a kid with a sith puppet if he’d like to work with Neil in this endeavor. But I thought of a character I’ve wanted to write for the longest time: King Crease.

I kind of wanted to do it partially for the comedic effect, but to also honor OM. OM has been a really passionate author in our community for a while, and his characters make me happy when I read them. I get excited to read any new story by him, and I’ve had many times when I’m working on college assignments where I need something fun to do, and I find myself reading and editing one of OM’s newest works, be it for the VGOU or DCOU.

So, Ronald Lamden was the character I chose; this bully who types in all caps, who lacks any grammatical reasoning to save his life.

At the time, I had only written four chapters of The Shredder Squad. I knew Ronald was going to be a character in it, but I didn’t want him to be anything major.

Well… times have changed.

Ronald Lamden has quickly became one of my favorite DCOU characters to write, probably right below Alan Wade and CJ. He has a pretty fun arc that I’m excited for you guys to read in The Shredder Squad, coming whenever it’s ready.

Here’s a sneak peek of one of my favorite jokes involving Ronald:

Stay tuned for more posts like this one. I’m thinking of doing a cast list soon, so if you want to send in your origami to be featured here, please let me know!

HOW CAN YOU WRITE FOR SFC?

Hey, SuperFolders! SF Guillermo here.

Lately we’ve noticed some confusion regarding how anyone can write stories for this site. And the truth is, as we have said many times before… You only have to email us your stories!

That’s right! Just follow these steps for us to submit whatever you’ve written:

1. Write a story that you want us to publish (that’s suitable for the site, of course!)

2. Email us the story in a doc, word, or pdf (emails listed above)

3. We’ll take a look at it, correct gramatical mistakes and get it posted ASAP.

I hope that solves any confusion.

PJOU Sunday! #17

Well, well, well, here we are again. You know the drill. Character Recaps. Stories. News . All that and more…

Sopia Foust- Sopia’s story begins with Sopia’s rich archaologist Father taking Sopia from her home in Italy and props the sarcastic and angsty young girl in Brooklyn, more specifically, The Carter Institute. At Carter, she handles betrayal, a blossoming love triangle, and her embarrassment of a brother. Her and her brother’s escapades fuel the Foust Chronicles series, and yet they ultimately fail at the hands of Mr. Malcom Malifer, Set, and the Carter Institute is closed down for good. When they arrive at Caesar, the two siblings choose different paths and the rift between them grows further and further. Will Sopia be able to reconcile with her family, or will she succumb to the same fates as the allies that ruined her?

Find out in Fousts Chronicles 3!

Keana McDaniels- Keana joined The Hunters of ART-emis as any other hunter. Unlike the other Hunters, she developed a close personal connection with the commander, Kaitlyn Enily. After Kaitlyn’s defeat, she carried on the legacy of Zoe Nitesharpie, often working against The Hunters of ARTemis’ wishes. With Athens gone and Keana’s ties with The Hunters of ARTemis virtually cut, will she manage to uphold the values instilled in her by her peers? Find out in…

Label Levesque and The Hunters of Art-emis!!

Finally, FOLD THREE BEGINS!!!

That’s right, folks! FINALLY!!! We have a new story ready, and it’s really only the beginning! Read The Seven Champions underneath the Fold Three tab.

After a rebellion in 1992 orchestrated by Charles Emily, a group of heroes is called together with one incentive in mind. Defeat the rebel OriGods and take there place on the high seat of OrigOlynpus.

I highly recommend reading between the lines on this one because it is brimming with lore and foreshadowing. Anyways, see you guys in a few weeks, hopefully with the return of a fan favorite little character…

The Wizarding Folds of Harry Potter continues…

Corruption? Team ups? It’s all part of a greater plan.

Sooner or later, the people of Ilkley ‘s School will have to choose their side for an imminent battle that will decide the fate of the school and it’s students.

Read Harry Paper and the Ori-Marauders here!!!

I’ll see you guys around!

VGOU Monday! – New Story Released, and some LORE!

Hey guys! It has been a REALLY Busy last few weeks… months, even! I know you haven’t heard from me much, but I am happy to present to you guys Origami Master’s new VIDEO GAMES ORIGAMI UNIVERSE DAY!!

Every other Monday will be dedicated to OM’s awesome universe! I’ve been keeping up with it myself; I know two universes like the back of my hand, the DCOU and the VGOU. I’m not sure what OM wants me to put here, so I’m going to do some things I typically did for DCOU (Which will be making a return anytime soon… You might be getting something on Friday…)

So: Here’s SF Arctic’s (wonder how he’s doing) Shadow the Foldhog!

Here’s a little VGOU lore for those that haven’t read much of it yet (You really should, they’re so fun!):

Be sure to give Arctic support, and also try constructive critiquing if you want to! We love seeing you guys improve.

The Hades PJOU Hour

Heyo, Hades here. Let’s talk PJOU!

So, PJOU Fold 3 is going to be big on, well, alot of levels, actually. And I don’t think I can stress that enough, everything’s going to be heating up really fast. So, what’s the plan? Well, I’m going to kick things off with bi-weekly little snippets. I guess you could call it… PJOU Sunday. That’s right, baby! PJOU Sundays are back!

Characters

So, the first attraction I have planned is characters. Typically, I’ll go over two characters that already exist and follow that up by a new character’s informal introduction.

Estelle Astley- Estelle Astley grew up at Athens Middle, a snarky teenager with little regard for her own actions, instead staying close to her best friend, Tyler Willigens. Later on, she would have a fling with William Emily, the two going on and off for nearly eight years. Talk about dysfunctional! After William accidently sired a child, Mac Astley, Estelle wished for her child not to get involved in the origami nonsense of her past, something that soon proved impossible. How will she react to all that’s unfolded in Caesar Middle School whilst her baby was her? And why is she really so scared of Mac’s adventures at Athens? Find out in:

The Seven Champions: The Agon

Peyton Hunter- Peyton joined Sebastian Merrick’s rebellion, joining at a low rank. After proving her ability and defeating Kaitlyn Emily she garnered the attention of her peers, and after the original CHRONOS converted to OrigOlympus she donned the puppet of her Father, the mighty ARTPOLLO! After OrigOlympus conquered Caesar, what role will she now play? Will she give into her longings for power or will her heart and soul remain intact. A new arc begins for the Hunter in…

Nico Di AngeFold and Will SolCrease: Tainted Love

And finally, new character, Miles Ordonia!

Miles Ordonia, one of lucky few called upon to compete in the Agon and hunt down defeated rebels, he is pushed to betray the people he loves all to keep one secret, a secret that has changed the PJOU as we know it. He is… Artchilles. And his ballad will be sang in:

The Seven Champions: The Agon

Fold Four…

So, good/bad news, depending on perspective. Fold Three was getting big, both in terms of length and actual content, so I decided to split it up into two volumes, a third Fold and a fourth Fold respectively. I promise, it’ll be worth it in the end. My outline flesh the finale is looking novel length!

If you like this method of marketing, please tell me! I’m trying to be as active as I can with fan interaction, and this feels like the safest way to go. I’ll probably leave you with my closing question:

What’s your favorite story so far?

Two New MOU One-Shots!

The main MOU may be over (may it rest in peace) but the characters themselves are still alive and breathing! Written by SF Guillermo, we have two more One-Shots, continuing the drama of Kev and Cassidy and Guillermo. Read Namorigami and Dormarker here (No, it’s not Dormammu. Dorma, look her up.) and Markervision here!

HE WHO MUST NO BE FRAMED IS HERE!

Hey there, Superfolders! Guillermo here

After more than a year (13 months) of waiting for this story, it is finally here!

The authorship for this story has been passed from person to person (much like the elder wand) and I had to write it in the end!

I hope you all enjoy Foldemort: Origins of the Heir! Read it here
