An Interview with SuperDoodler CJ! (Conducted by SF Guillermo)

A couple weeks ago, we got an email from SF Guillermo who wanted to interview world famous SuperDoodler and member of the SFCouncil, CJ.

CJ lives on a remote island off the coast of JuteFruce in the DCOU, so it took a while to reach him, but he was generous enough to take time out of his day of hacking computers and drawing book covers to answer these questions. Enjoy!

– The SFCouncil

Q: First off, how are you? What have you been up to these days?
A: I’m doing well. Been drawing, animating, and binging shows on Netflix and DC Universe.

Q: May I ask what you’re studying at college at the moment?
A: My major is Computer Information Systems.

Q: Do you have a favorite movie?
A: It’s a tie between The Dark Knight and Dead Poets’ Society.

Q: How about a favorite book? Why is that?
A: To Kill a Mockingbird. It’s a fascinating story and still has an important message that is very applicable for today’s world.

Q: What did you think of the SFC ‘Initiative’?
A: I think it’s great that the SFC works as an umbrella group for all origami-themed school dramas/stories. I’m excited for all the new stories to come.

Q: So, how long have you been a member of what was the EU (now SFC)? What do you think of all that time?
A: Man, I can’t even remember. I guess a little time after the time it started. I think 2012? Anyways, yeah, I’m glad I was able to be a part of the journey. Made some great friends along the way, especially with Jawa and JC.

Q: You’re the master of cover designing, how long have you been doing that for?
A: I helped with a few covers for the Origami Yoda and the Bounty Hunters series. But I got better at making them when I started doing the MOU covers.

Q: This is a fun question, when did you become a member of the SFCouncil?
A: Hmm, can’t really recall.

Q: When did you enter the Jedi Council of Superfolders?
A: Uh… I don’t remember that either. Sorry.

Q: So SuPaperMan was so very well done, what’s the best story you have written?
A: Thorigami: Lord of Folders was probably my best. I tried to be very thorough with that story.

Q: You helped orchestrate a great deal of the MOU, what (personally) pushed you to do that?
A: Well, I was nostalgic for the times when I helped out with stories and drawings for the old EU, and when Noah brought forth his plan for the MOU, I was eager to help out.

Q: Are you happy with how the MOU has evolved?
A: Yes, for sure. It’s a very colorful and fun collection of stories that I’m sure would make Mr. Angleberger proud.

Q: What’s your favorite universe?
A: To be honest, I have high hopes for the DCOU and it’s my personal favorite right now.

Q: Favorite food?
A: Pizza. Hands-down best food ever.

Q: What’s something you really like to practice during your free time?
A: Animating and drawing techniques.

Q: Do you have any idea what this emoji is supposed to mean? ️
A: It’s a pothole.

Q: Are there any words you would like to say to your fellow SFC superfolders?
A: Rock on, dudes.

Thank you very much CJ for answering these questions!
