DCOU Friday 7
Oh no! The stories I just got done editing have all fallen onto the floor…
And there’s no Green Arrowigami 2…
Sigh… I was really enjoying it.
Anyways, help me pick these up, will you?
Firstly, we have the double feature of two new episodes in Kid Fold Season 2. This has a really interesting cameo, and I believe the story is concluded. Congratulations to Superfolder Origami_Master, he’s made his longest story so far!
I think that’s my favorite things about these ‘shows’ we’re doing, it allows for more in-depth story telling, and also longer stories. I’m excited to use Johnathan Yen in Justice Pleats: The Scissors Cut.
Then, we have a blast to the past with the Puppet Society of America, a new chapter in Folders of Tomorrow: The Squeakquel
Hades asked me to post this one:
Can you interpret this for me? I don’t want to.
Anyways, now for the interview Segment:
It seemed like a Tuesday when Thrawn entered the scene of the OYEU Website. Coming hot off the tracks, he posted a few stories, focused on the OYEU and the MOU. Recently, he made a one-shot that will be coming out near Green Creaser’s Release.
The writer’s room can get a bit funky. Ideas are thrown around, coffee is spilled, and tears can be shed. Building a universe can be tricky, sometimes insane, but it’s people like you guys that help build it. That’s why I, OrigamiLuke100, decided to sit down with the writers that make this DCOU world what it is: fun!
In this behind-the-scenes interview, I interrupted Thrawn during his weekly tennis matches with the President, Clark Largent.
Which is weird, you can’t be president unless you’re 35. But, he’s super smart.
He was upset with me for interrupting his Tennis match, but I was adamant.
Q: Hey man! How are you today?
A: I’m doing great to be honest!
Q: So, you’re fairly new in the grand scheme of things, how’d you find the site?
A:I was feeling reminiscent. I had read the OG books and I was curious about what else was out there and so I did some ‘digging’ and I stumbled upon the OYEU. I did not immediately create an account because I sort of forgot about it. Then during the quarantine I remembered the site and I officially joined.
Q: if you remember, what was the first story you read here?
A: I remember it pretty clearly because it was Marvel and that brought back waves of nostalgia. The story was Doctorgami Strange and I read it when it first came out.
Q: what’s your favorite OYEU tale?
A: I often find myself reading Boba Felt’s Mission because the idea of a group of authors who were expanding this universe that I had grown up with was really refreshing. So I guess that or Cut Bane’s Bounty if I am to be honest.
Q: favorite MOU tale?
A: I have got to say Captain Americrease. I can’t place my finger on one thing because there are so many parts that make the story great. It does the paper character justice in a way that not many authors can replicate and to have it be set during WW2 was brilliant! The evolution of Andy and his hesitation to the role was completely needed, I think that it was a smart move to have a Coulson-like character become this great paper protector.
Q: Favorite DCOU tale?
A:I am looking forward to Green Creaser but without a doubt my favorite so far has to be AquaPleat. Having the finale being set in a pool/ swim meet was, without a doubt, BIG BRAIN. Although I would like to see the Trench people appear in a future story.
Q: Let’s get on with the stories, what was your first story here?
A: Captigami Rex and the Funtime plot. I can tell that I have grown from now and then because that story was absolutely garbage. (In the way that it was written)
Q: Doctor Voodoodle 2?
A: We will see but expect cameos or guest appearances. He was meant to be a One-Shot that would connect to a wider story (The MCP Saga) but to have him be upgraded to a main story was pretty stooky. So to be frank, highly possible.
Q: Now, we have one DCOU story by you coming soon (we’ll get to that), but have you had any ideas for stories?
A: I was reading Doctor Fate (New Earth) for some time so if anything it’s probably going to be that. The Kyle Rayner version of Green Lantern is an interesting character because they pretty much rebooted the corps with him so I would love to see how that would work. Also I have thought about doing a 1966 Batman story set in the modern day.
Q: What do you think is coming next in the DCOU with these main stories?
A: I think it’s going to get a lot more gritty and dark. I don’t expect blood but I do expect ripped puppets and lots of tested morals. The potential for it to become a sudo-injustice story line is high and I think if something didn’t work out that that would be a good failsafe.
Q: MOU fold 4, what do you hope to see? Is there anything you hope to write?
A: I don’t know how much I can say and I can’t really pick what to write but I would like to write an origin story if possible, I have had an idea for a team like the OriAvengers but it’s the Inkternals. Also I am shocked that no one has written a story about the Spider-Man of Earth-1048 so you will be seeing that from me in the future. (But that’s probably a One-Shot).
Q: Do you want to announce your next story for the DCOU?
A: Sure! I proudly present to you, LARFOLDZ!
Q: how about a sneak peek?
A: “You flunked.” One of them said
“But that’s impossible!” Arnold cried out.
“Yes, it is. We designed the test to be fool proof and somehow all of you managed to fail.” another counselor said.
Q: let’s start closing this out with a few rapid fire questions: favorite video game?
A: Destiny 2
Q: favorite movie?
A: Tron: Legacy and Spider-Man (2002)
Q: favorite book?
A: The Menagerie By: Tui. T Sutherland
Q: Favorite OY book?
A: Princess Lablemaker
Q: Finally, what do you have to say to the people back home?
Thank you, Thrawn!
Now, for the user interview Spin The Wheel!
It’s… Origami Master 53! I’ll be e-mailing you soon.
I’ve been thinking about this for a while, so I’m just going to start throwing out ideas for shows you guys can do:
Origami Vixen: Located at Lampert, it would be that show that would bring all the others together I guess.
Pennyworthigami: This series would follow a kid who wants to just help out Alan Wade all the time, meanwhile, he does espionage.
Plastic Man *Maybe Silly Putty Man I don’t know*: Donner based, private school class clown.
The Origami Ray and the Freedom Fighters: I don’t know what this show is, but it looks like Nova, lol
Here’s some One-Shot Ideas I’ve been playing around with:
Detective Chocolate Chimp Cookie: A kid who wants to be a detective at Kane goes out of his way to solve cases before Batfold or the Origami Question can even think of getting to them.
Dial “F” for FOLD: An expert origami fanatic makes an origami fortune teller that will let him bring out a puppet from his binder to fit whatever situation is needed.
The Origami Firestorm: At Lampert, a student with no parental figure finds help and guidance with a chemistry teacher, and creates a Firestorm Puppet, while giving A Martin Stein puppet to his teacher.
Adam Strangeigami: Dreaming of flying to the moon, a Donner student decides to settle with studying the stars while facing enemies on Earth.
Finally, some trivia for you all:
